MARS: Men Affected by Rape & Sexual-abuse

A safe place for men who identify past sexual assault to come together for recovery and resolution. Started in 1993 and used by hundreds of men supporting each other. Opens every three months for a new intake. Meetings are weekly. First night is safety building, then there is story sharing for understanding and identification. After that we move on to issues in recovery, like anger, relationships, self protection, intimacy and sexuality. You choice when you talk, how long you stay and when you leave. In Rape you don't have a choice, in recovery you get it back. It is a self help model. No one is here to run your life. MARS is free and is assisted by Dept of Communities funding since 2000.You can be straight, gay, bi, unsure or even not have to wear a label. The only entry requirement is a desire to recover.
