Self Help Queensland Inc

Self Help Queensland Inc (SHQ) forms part of a network of over 700 self help and support groups in Queensland across a very broad range of health and well being issues.  We are a not for profit community organisation which receives some funding from Queensland Health to carry out our activities.
SHQ acts as an information and referral service for the Self Help Sector.  We assist in the formation, development and sustainability of groups eg we are able to auspice unincorporated groups in their applications for funding, write letters of support, provide a small, free meeting room, promote groups through a statewide newsletter, network with other groups, provide training to groups etc.
Membership of SHQ is free.  A searchable database of Queensland Support Groups is currently under development for the new SHQ website.  This will allow anyone in the community to search for any support group at no cost.  All groups are welcome to contact SHQ to be added to the searchable database, to receive our free newsletter, to submit an article for publication or to promote a particular event.
